US Special Presidential Envoy for Climate John Kerry appears prepared to accept China’s genocidal actions toward the Uyghurs and other minorities in exchange for cooperation on climate issues.

China has multiple stances on coal, pledging in September 2021 to cease building coal-powered plants abroad after increasing its coal power production by 34 GW in 2020 while at the same time publcly committing to peak carbon by 2030 and carbon neutrality by 2060 (September 2020).
